It's recommended to have an annual service done, even if you keep your boat in tip top shape, bacteria can and will find its way into your hull and you want to address it sooner rather than later.

Can anyone detail a boat?

Yes and no. You as the boat owner most certainly can! Buying the necessary tools to do a thorough job may be cost prohibitive, however. As far as who should you hire to detail your boat, someone who is insured and certified by the IDA (international Detailing Association)
