Vehicle buyers and wholesalers notice the paint job first, and true enthusiasts often disregard vehicles without original paint. This clear bra will shield your vehicle and keep the paint underneath looking like its original form. So not only is it the original paint, but you’ll also have negated 10 years of wear off its life by keeping it protected.

Brands of PPF much like any other industry are personal preference. I may prefer Adidas to Nike but is one actually superior to the other? It’ll depend on who’s wearing them and their opinion of them. Xpel has an excellent marketing budget and dominates in a lot of ways like that. They require their installers to commit exclusively to the brand, and we did not want to be tied to a single manufacturer’s product line. We have experimented with numerous brands for our Paint Protection Film (PPF), ceramic coatings, and window tints. We believe that switching from the trusted and favored brands we use would not be in our customers’ best interest, even though we do appreciate the quality of Xpel’s PPF line. Our honest opinion is that we do like their PPF, but I wouldn’t agree that it’s the best. 3M Scotchgard and it’s sister company Apeax have better physical hydrophobics, better protection from ink/graffiti, better self-healing, better sheeting and better physical protection against rock chips.

Just because a shop has a good reputation, or price does not mean that the install will reflect that. Some ways to ensure you are getting the best is to ask some important questions. Firstly, I would want to know if they will be bulking (custom fitting the hood) or using a pre-cut pattern. I much prefer a bulked hood to a pattern for a few reasons. Firstly, the bulk method ensures a perfect fit because its molded specifically to your car and the installer has complete control of where everything lines up. This method puts the least amount of tension on the film during install and will have wrapped edges ensuring complete coverage of the hoods edging. Patterns might sound nice in theory, but you have to force stretch them into place and they rarely line up correctly on all edges, it also gives you exposed corners on the sharp edges. I’d want the person installing on my vehicle to have a minimum of 3 years of professional installation experience. Our lead installer is master level with over 10 years’ experience. Do they have a craftsmanship guarantee? A 10-year warranty is great but if it was installed poorly, it doesn’t really benefit you anyway. Find a company who backs their work up with a craftsmanship guarantee like we do. Do be aware though that clear bra is meant to be inspected from 5′ away not 5″. Even a brand-new cars paint will have blemishes that you may not have noticed prior and PPF will magnify it, it does not make it a poor install. Perfection is always the goal, but it is not humanly achievable.
